Changing your car rental reservation free of charge

At Alamo.nl you can change your car rental reservation in the period between booking and pickup. This service is free of charge and our customer service team is happy to help you look for possibilities. It is possible that your desired change in the reservation can result in extra costs because of rate changes or current availability.

Easy canceling

If due to circumstances you want to cancel your reservation, please contact our customer service team. They are happy to answer your questions of help you cancel the reservation. You can cancel your reservation free of charge within the first 24 hours after booking. After 24 hours your reservation is confirmed and the following cancelation policy applies:

  • Cancelation until 14 days before pickup date: €35,-
  • Cancelation between 14 days and 2 days before pickup date: €75,-
  • Cancelation within 2 days before pickup date: 100% of the rental fee.
  • Partial reimbursement of the rental fee is not possible.
  • If you are not present at the rental location to pick up your rental car, this will be notified as a no show. In case of a no show, you will be charged 100% of the rental fee.

After we received your cancelation, you will be reimbursed for the already paid rental fee. The applicable cancelation costs will be subtracted from this amount.

Car rental voucher

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic Alamo.nl handles many reimbursements though car rental vouchers. This car rental voucher holds the value of your total paid rental fee. You can use this voucher at a later moment to make a new car rental reservation for a destination of your choice.

Cancel free of charge

If, during the booking process, you chose the option ‘commutation of your cancelation costs’, you will not be charged with any cancelation fees. In this case you will be reimbursed with the full prepaid amount. Please be aware that you have to cancel at least 48 hours before pickup time. Otherwise, you are still required to pay 100% of the rental fee without any reimbursement.

Cancelation within 48 hours of pickup

If you cancel your reservation within 48 hours of pickup time, we are not able to credit your paid rental fee. If, due to circumstances, you are forced to return the rental car earlier than noted in your rental agreement, it can be possible to claim the remainder of the amount via your travel insurance. Please check your travel insurance if this applies to your situation.
