The roads in and around Alicante are well maintained and clearly signposted. Motorways (autopistas) connect the city with other major destinations along the Costa Blanca and further inland. Please note that some motorways are toll roads. In Spain, you drive on the right and road signs are usually in English or internationally recognisable.
